In other news.

I had the benefit of time to watch the crowd at PS on a Friday night. As the huge megaspeaker that I was standing next to pumped out the first few beats of Billie Jean, I observed a strange thing. Kids that were previously walking idly, suddenly broke into unself-conscious prancing steps, often to the amusement of another sibling. Other people sang the lyrics to themselves as they absentmindedly browsed sale items. And personally, I must confess it was hard resisting the urge to do the Alibaba neck thing.

Obviously his music has touched our lives. Why are people comparing his death to that of Hitler -- that we should not mourn the passing of a criminal? Hello apple, this is orange. And if I do recall correctly, he was acquitted.

So thanks MJ, for giving the world something to sing to, and for your music that still makes the children dance.
(Even though you canceled a whole week of Maddow..........)
